Oxygen Therapy Safety Tips
Unlike
some gases or chemicals, oxygen is not flammable. It is classified as an
accelerator, meaning that if there is a fire and oxygen is present, the fire
will burn. The more oxygen, the larger the fire and the faster it will spread. The
fire hazard around oxygen is a well-known potential risk. However, this is
sometimes forgotten or overlooked.
Thus,
oxygen safety tips are essential to learn if you must use supplemental
oxygen during the daily life.

Ø No smoking in every where use the oxygen, at home, in
the car or other rooms.
Ø Do not use
your oxygen system near any heat sources or open flames. While using it should be kept at least 5-10 feet.
Ø Do not
expose your oxygen equipment to electrical appliances (such as electric razors,
hair dryers, electric blankets, etc.) Or avoid using them while using
supplemental oxygen
Ø Check
that all electrical equipment in the area near the oxygen is properly grounded.
Keep the oxygen system away from aerosol cans or sprays, including air
fresheners or hair spray. These products are very flammable.
Ø Keep the
oxygen system clean and dust-free. The person who delivers your oxygen will
show you how to do this. Keep the oxygen system in a place where it won't get
knocked over.
Ø Always
store your oxygen equipment in a well-ventilated area. it's
important to store it safely and securely. An oxygen cylinder must be secured

shoulder straps and backpack oxygen units are available to provide proper
ventilation for the unit to ensure safety.

precautions to avoid skin contact when filling your portable liquid oxygen
tank, as frost buildup could cause injury.
